Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Construction Millwright Trade Certification, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Welder Trade Certification, Hoisting and Rigging Certificate, Forklift Operator Certification
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Machinery installation, New construction, Maintenance, Service, Repair
Area of Specialization: Assembling machinery and equipment, Installing machinery and equipment, Adjusting machinery and equipment, Fabricating machine parts, Start-up and testing, Renovating and restoring, Rigging and handling, Troubleshooting, Centering and setting to elevation, Bearing, seals and packing, Specialty welding, Stainless steel welding, Levelling and aligning
Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Pulp and paper industry, Manufacturing, Metal fabrication, Food and beverage processing, Equipment fabrication, Steel industry
Type of Machinery or Equipment: Conveyors, Pumps and compressors, Hoists and other lifting devices, Grinders, Welding equipment, Electrical and electronic controls, Lathes and other machining tools, Power tools, Fans and blowers, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Press brakes and metalworking equipment
Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Construct foundations for machinery, Install machinery and mechanical equipment, Repair or replace defective machinery parts, Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Assemble machinery prior to installation, Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
