MINNEAPOLIS: With Northwest Airlines emerging from bankruptcy, the United States' largest carriers have reorganized to better compete in a world of discount carriers and higher fuel prices.
Some of the changes over the last few years included bankruptcy reorganizations by Northwest, Delta, United, and U.S. Airways. Northwest came out of bankruptcy on Thursday.
