We left Messina and had a quick, uneventful passage through the Strait of Messina, a short section that has to be timed because of the extreme current. We motorsailed to a small town called Vibo Valentia. The pilot book for Italy lists the marina we stayed in as being family-run Canadian-Italian. We headed specifically for it so that we could talk English to someone about our credit card, eh? We got the cell phone figured out and called Visa and were all set. We did a quick reconnaissance of the small town and picked up some fresh veggies and pasta. The store that we shopped was small, but has an entire aisle (both sides) devoted to all kinds of pastas. Momma Mia!
