My husband and I stayed at the Club Albufeira over Xmas and the New Year.We were really impressed with the high standard of the apartment,the English on-site restaurant and a very friendly and helpful reception office that arranged excursions for us to the ZooMarine and Safaris.The weather was hot through the days but chilly in the evenings but not in our apartment.We lit the Portuguese burner and made ourselves comfortable watching satellite tv in the evenings.We had a supply of lovely warm blankets for the beds and so we slept comfortably.We found the holiday very economic -being OAP`s we gloated at the fact that we had been given a heating allowance by the government which more than covered our airfares !
New Year`s eve we went to the Albufeira beach and we were told that there were 50,000 people there besides ourselves-all opening bottles of bubbly and watching the fireworks and a live show.The Club Albufeira is just beautiful and we can imagine that in the summer months the children just love the superb pools there.
We found our place through the website albufeira-rentals.com which gives a choice of different sizes of apartments which are privately owned.We chose a one bedroom apartment as there were only two of us.It really was a home from home and a very enjoyable holiday.
For sure we will go again!

We had a fabulous holiday here. First time we had booked without  a travel agent. Definitely will never go back to package holidays again. Already heard of club albufeira and found many owners advertising private apartments here by searching on google.
The apartment was spotless and a real home from home, only built a few months before we were there. Proper kitchen with loads of utensils, but we didnt eat in much. Lots of friendly advice left in the apartment and from the people who manage the property about places to visit etc. We had some fantastic meals at the nearby Portuguese restaurants and the owners even drove us back to our apartment at the end of the night - twice!Wish I could remember the name to give them a plug, just across the main road and lit up at night. My son loved the pool areas on the resort which are set in very attractive landscaped gardens which are well tended. The main restaurant was friendly and the food excellent.
We didnt hire a car and the resort is a good 20 minute walk from the Old town - too far in the burning hot temperatures. But the club runs a free bus into town 4 times a day and taxis were only 5 Euros all over Albufeira. There was a supermarket opposite the resort and a regular public bus service into town as well. Definitely somewhere to chill out and great for families, lots of kids. The pool had a bar in the middle of it and aquafit each day if you were feeling energetic. Will definitely go back, probably for 2 weeks next time.
