The Algarve region in southern Portugal has been highlighted as a good option for keen golfers planning a getaway over the winter months.
Hugo Nascimento, sun and sea product manager at the Algarve Promotion Bureau, noted that the destination offers ongoing warm weather while temperatures are falling in northern Europe.

The year so far has brought good results for the region, with a particularly strong increase in British visitor numbers.
