Tourism in the Algarve should see signs of recovery and stability this year, according to a survey by the region’s tourism board (ERTA).
The Algarve Tourism Barometer is a document produced by the ERTA every year after collecting responses from a panel of local politicians, businesspeople and other dignitaries in the region.
Around 32.2 per cent of those questioned believe 2010 will be a better year for tourism in the Algarve, 40.7 per cent say the sector will remain the same as last year and 16.9 per cent say that the worst is still to come with 6.8 per cent saying the tourism industry will be severely affected.
