Devil's Lake North Dakota Fishing Report

Devils Lake Fishing Report

We put in an 11 hour day Saturday the 25th on East Devils Lake. We were looking for White Bass but ended up fishing Walleye. Along the way we did catch 2 White Bass and 2 NP’s.
We trolled bottom bouncers and spinners with a quarter night crawler until we found some. Then we switched to jigs with night crawlers. Used the usual florescent chartreuse and perch colored spinners and chartreuse jigs.
We caught 55 walleye between 5 and 17 inches and kept 7 between 14.5 and 17. The action, once we found them, was pretty steady. We looked at a couple spots where 4 or 5 boats were already fishing but saw only tiny fish being caught so we decided to check out another of our 28 GPS way points for EDL and found fish on it.
All in all it was a good outing and BOTH fishing and the CATCHING were good.
