Well, your chances of catching a trophy Walleye (or "greenbacks" as locals call them) of a lifetime are better than good on the Red River and Winnipeg River! How big are these Manitoba Walleye? Well to turn a head on either the Red River or Winnipeg River a trophy Manitoba Walleye under ten pounds won't garner a whole lot of attention! Walleye in the mid teens are caught every year.  These monstrous Manitoba Walleye come down from the sprawling waters of lake Winnipeg to inhabit the Red River and Winnipeg River in the fall. Locals call these fish "Greenbacks"  because of an irridescent green colour un-matched elsewhere in the Walleye  world.  Most significant to the visiting angler is that these "North American class" trophy Walleye are available in excellent numbers. Manitoba Greenbacks..... now that's real Manitoba Fishing. Come on out and see how you do tangling with a Manitoba Master Angler walleye!
