Final touches for the First Annual Winnipeg Watersports LOTW Walleye Challenge are now being put in place. The event will be run out of Kenora on the second weekend of June 2008. It has been decided that the tournament will be capped at 150 teams for the two days of fishing. It appears that the four fish rule will be in effect. One fish will be allowed over the provincial slot size each day. Entry fee will be $800 and includes a hog roast dinner on the Saturday night. First prize is a Lund 1800 Pro V with a 175 Mercury XS outboard. Cash payouts will be based on the number of entries. The top 50 finishers will be guaranteed a spot in the 2009 tournament with the remaining going into a lottery format to insure that the field changes each year. Sponsors are coming aboard with all kinds of products. We are trying to put together some early bird package prizes. For more information, call me at 949-3550
