Northbound tourists picky
Tourist attractions had better have a top product if they want to draw U.S. visitors, says a Winnipeg travel expert.
Max Johnson, owner of the Great Canadian Travel Company, says the rising loonie has jacked up the price of a visit to the Great White North by 30 to 40 per cent over the last few years.
Only a select few attractions, such as polar bears in Churchill or hunting and fishing lodges in northern Manitoba, are unaffected, he said.http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/subscriber/business/local/story/4041198p-4650130c.html
