Red River: Walleye and Sauger action is picking up. People are starting to catch the greenbacks so get your gear ready and head out. Try the miracle mile or around Selkirk. It is going to start to get really busy at the Selkirk boat launch, so please be patient and try to be ready to launch when it is your turn.
Pine Falls: Reports of steady walleye action, head towards the river and work the points. Use light jigs in about 15 foot of water.
Lac du Bonnet: The smallies are still smak’n the jigs, work around the islands, you will also pick up a few walleye in the process.
Falcon Lake: Walleye fishing is hot at dawn and dusk, troll bottom bouncers and spinners with huge night crawlers, once you find them slow it down and use smaller jigs and worms.
Big Whiteshell: Walleye action is getting pretty good, jig points and around islands. There are some HUGE pike being caught as well.
Barren Lake: Walleye action is pretty good. Slow jigging near the highway will produce some numbers. Try tossing some lures around the shallow bays for some huge smallmouth bass as well.
It is fall time, everyone please be safe on the water. If you have a floater suit pull it out and dust it off and slap it on, not only will it keep you warm it could save your life. For those without floater suits, if you have lots of clothing on you remember you will sink like a rock if you fall into the water, be sure to keep your life jackets on.
