PREMIERE ARTISTS GROUP PRESENTS

Rob Swift "War Games Tour"
Available for Europe
October 7th through 22nd, 2005
& November 25th through December 8th, 2005

Hailed by Spin Magazine as one of the Top Turntablists in the World - next only to DJ Q-Bert and Mix Master Mike - Spin describes Rob Swift as “the most self-consciously musical of his peers, meticulously arranging his scratches and stuttering beats.” Moreover, his successful solo career is only accentuated by his previous membership in the legendary DJ/music group the X-ecutioners, which has garnered him recognition and tours throughout the world.

Rolling Stone nominated Rob Swift’s group the X-ecutioners as one of the top 50 Players in Hip-Hop alongside the likes of Jay-Z, Master P and Lauryn Hill. Known as one of the best turntablists on the planet, Swift has elevated the art of DJ’ing with unbelievable displays of technical skill and acrobatics, making the Technic 1200 the musical instrument of the future. He has broken ground for DJs and turntablists worldwide in one of the most influential turntable bands in the world, recorded full length LPs for major labels (Loud, Columbia), worked with multi-platinum bands like Linkin Park, made appearances on MTV, The David Letterman Show, and Last Call w/Carson Daly. Rob has also recorded 2 solo albums, the "Ablist" and "Sound Event", and has collaborated with such notable artists as Herbie Hancock and Bob James.

Rob's latest effort, "War Games” is his 3rd solo venture. In 2005/2006, he will be touring North America, Australia, Asia and Europe in support of it. With his newly found creative freedom since leaving the X-ecutioners, his aim is to make a social statement and unleash a totally new concept in turntable music. Wargames is chock-full of vicious turntablism, MCs & hot beats; one of the first albums of its kind to provide social commentary from the point-of-view of the DJ and features special guests Large Professor, DJ Melo D (Beat Junkies), DJ Quest,Bob James, Breez Evahflowin’, Ricci Rucker, Toadstyle, A. Saffery, Dave McMurray, Akinyele and Prints Haze to name a few... This tour is not to be missed!

Danny the Wildchild @ Liquid Lounge

22 July 2005   Danny the Wildchild @ Liquid Lounge (Public Event)
Top Down Productions proudly presents....
An intimate night with the WILD ONE!!!

DANNY THE WILDCHILD
Jungle/Drum-n-Bass/Turntablist
(Q101 FM/Strictly Hype/Surge Recordings, Chicago)
Danny the Wildchild aka Daniel Garcia was born on the South side of Chicago in 1977. The brother of a once aspiring DJ, he keenly watched and quickly learned the tricks of the trade. Danny began djing at age nine soon surpassing his brother's abilities and eventually inherited his equipment and records. At twelve, Danny entered a Chicago area contest for young DJ's and won. He took home that fifty-dollar prize and was called "The Wildchild" from that day forward. Although Danny's roots were as a Hip-Hop DJ, he was eventually introduced into the Chicago Rave scene and to the world of drum-n-bass. He enjoyed this new form of music, but also loved hip-hop and began to creatively blend the two genres creating a unique sound of his own. As Danny's turntable talents grew, he began to incorporate scratching and DMC style battle tricks into his Drum-n-Bass sets. His precise mixing skills and unique style and sound gave him the opportunity to bring Drum-n-Bass into the DMC and Hip-Hop scenes. Danny's recognition has earned him a collection of praises from domestic and international magazines such as Mixer, Thousand Words, Faqt, and Lotus to name just a few. Danny was also featured as one of the people making waves in the scene in Urb's Next 100 Artists to Watch Issue. Today Danny has become one of the most valued U.S. Drum-n-Bass DJ's. His unique blends of jungle and Hip-Hop beats and amazing scratching and beat juggling have proved to be show stopping. His talents have brought him to perform in venues worldwide and opening up for such acts as Eminem, Method Man, The Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Moby, Goldie, MixMaster Mike and The Pharcyde. Danny also toured extensively throughout Europe with DJ Q-bert in 2002 (see djqbert.com). Although most weekends he is on the road, he still has time to host the 12midnight slot on Chicago's Alternative Radio station Q101FM and is gotten back in the studio. You don't want to miss a minute of this awesome set!

Chibuku Shake Shake's re-launch September 2005 onwards!

Chibuku Shake Shake's re-launch September 2005 onwards!

Jul 8 2005

icLiverpool

Chibuku Shake Shake

LIVERPOOL'S Chibuku Shake Shake returns after the summer hiatus - well, if you can call barnstorming barn parties, electric Masque collaborations with Circus, select parties around the country and of course the best tent at Creamfields a hiatus, the best underground night in the country returns with arguably the best shit booked in yet.

Retaining the eclectic vibes that have made the night famous, Chibuku still straddles the wild horses of nocturnal deviance that make it the rough-edged jewel in the clubbing crown of the North West and far beyond, daring to put together lineups that would otherwise fail were it not for the dedication of the promoters and continued resurgency the city is enjoying with a clued-up crowd wanting to have their ears challenged.

Adding to the heinous acts coming shortly to Liverpool the Barfly (the Masque name is now totally redundant) itself has had a refurbishment, including much improved air conditioning and even more sound pumped into the Theatre, Loft and Bar, three iconic rooms that have helped shape the underground house-techno-breaks-drum and bass-hiphop-funk-soul-live-soul resistance.

Exciting doesn't really do it justice.

And add to that a Chibuku and Circus party at Nation on November 12th...

Coming up just for starters are: Jazzy Jeff & Mad Skillz, London Elektricity (live) + guests, Soulwax present Niteversions feat: 2manydjs, Soulwax live, Vitalic (live), Justice/Erol Alkan, DJ Marky & Mc Dynamite, Felix Da Housecat, Jeru the Damaja (Live), Dave Clarke, Alan Simms, Optical & Ed Rush, Evil 9, Jamie Lidell (live)...

Plus the exciting brace of residents making names for themselves including: The Beat Monkeys, Leo Belchetz, Loz, Dom Chung, Wandy, Phil Charnock and Luke Carr...
