Rolling Stone nominated Rob Swift’s group the X-ecutioners as one of the top 50 Players in Hip-Hop alongside the likes of Jay-Z, Master P and Lauryn Hill. Known as one of the best turntablists on the planet, Swift has elevated the art of DJ’ing with unbelievable displays of technical skill and acrobatics, making the Technic 1200 the musical instrument of the future. He has broken ground for DJs and turntablists worldwide in one of the most influential turntable bands in the world, recorded full length LPs for major labels (Loud, Columbia), worked with multi-platinum bands like Linkin Park, made appearances on MTV, The David Letterman Show, and Last Call w/Carson Daly. Rob has also recorded 2 solo albums, the "Ablist" and "Sound Event", and has collaborated with such notable artists as Herbie Hancock and Bob James.
Rob's latest effort, "War Games” is his 3rd solo venture. In 2005/2006, he will be touring North America, Australia, Asia and Europe in support of it. With his newly found creative freedom since leaving the X-ecutioners, his aim is to make a social statement and unleash a totally new concept in turntable music. Wargames is chock-full of vicious turntablism, MCs & hot beats; one of the first albums of its kind to provide social commentary from the point-of-view of the DJ and features special guests Large Professor, DJ Melo D (Beat Junkies), DJ Quest,Bob James, Breez Evahflowin’, Ricci Rucker, Toadstyle, A.
