He was certainly under some miracle in those woods. I am a believer of that because I have seen it before my very eyes.
Mike Dodson was an honest to goodness outdoorsman. He was adroit with anything there is about the woods, the rivers and the wild. In those good old days, He and I were incredible partners in fishing and hunting. We had the passion for hunting and fishing almost everything that is considered as a prized catch. Our playground was Arkansas, Ontario and Manitoba. But in the past 20 years, distance kept us from enjoying our shared hobby together. But never was he distant from my memory.
He still communicates with me. When he gets something nice to share, he writes. Just like the other day, Mike sent me a photo of his latest catch, a 9.5 pound bass from the Bull Shoals Lake. He said that it snagged his line in a single-spin. The experience must have made quite an impression on him that he couldn’t resist but invite me to come down and join him catching some more. He said that it is the best time to fish now that the moon is bright and big, and the fishes are hungrier. Definitely, when the moon is bright, it doesn’t matter what lake you are fishing, you’d certainly come home with a big catch of bass. However, when it comes to hunting turkeys at first daylight, it would be tough without having a good night’s rest.
