This 1200 squ.ft. 4 season cabin is located on one acre of sand and is backed by a jack pine and birch forest. The cabin is situated on the high point of a ridge that meets the provincial forest. There is access to your own private snowmobile/triking trail off of the volleyball court which is located at the rear of the property. The trail leads to the provincial trails throughout the area.
Swing in your hammock in the breezeway of the ¼ surround deck, listening to nature and chimes and watching the humming birds play around you. You can relax in the 10 by 40 screened in porch, decorated to duplicate the ambiance of a tropical hut in the Caribbean.
The kitchen, dining and living areas are designed in a high open ceiling L-shaped concept and encased in beautiful red cedar. A beautiful white textured wall is one of the features of the living area, as well as a reclaimed brick hearth located in the centre of the cabin and highlights a high efficiency wood stove. The dining area floor is hardwood and the balance of the room is covered in a stunning maple veneer. The cedar bathroom has oak hardwood flooring, a newer shower stall, a new low consumption toilet and a 5 foot vanity.
The carpeted main bedroom is 8 x 12ft and the 2 carpeted guest bedrooms are 7 1/2 and 6 1/2 x 12ft. All 3 bedrooms have fans hanging from a red cedar ceiling and are decorated in a combination of drywall, mahogany and paneling.
The deep well supports a year round water supply and there is a new hot water tank. There are electrical base board heaters in every room which can be used as an alternative heating source to the wood stove.
The shingles were replaced 5 years ago and the ¼ surround deck is constructed of treated wood. A reclaimed brick patio flows off of the back stairs of the deck, bordered by perennial gardens. There is a 8 x 12ft attached shed on the back of the cabin, adjacent to a solid wood stairway that leads down to the 8 x 14ft cellar. A horseshoe driveway borders the central gardens and provides ample parking and mobility for guests and drivers. A large fire pit is located north of the cabin as well as a parked house trailer which provides additional sleeping accommodations for up to 6 guests or serves as a clubhouse for the young at heart.
