The Energy Blog is concerned with the technologies that will replace depleting oil. These include alternative energy, renewable energy, biochemicals, bioenergy, wind power, solar power, photovoltaics, ocean power, ethanol, biodiesel, clean coal power, all electric cars, batteries, hybrid cars, hydrogen, oil natural gas and fuel cells. Peak oil and environmental concerns will be discussed as they relate to these technologies.

Silicon-free thin-film photovoltaic solar cells are now commercially available in early production runs. These may well be the low cost cells for the next few years until the potential of silicon-free, thin-film cells produced by printing can be evaluated.
