Technical Note: Gasification
Saturday, 07. May 2005
Gassifiers convert carbonaceous feedstock such as coal or biomass into a gaseous product referred to as syngas. The process takes place in the presence of a small amout of oxygen at temperatures in the range of 1370 C for coal or 830 C for biomass. The syngas predominately composed of CO and H2 and can be used as a fuel or feed to a Fische-Tropsch process and converted to a liquid fuel.
