Qatar-Worlds Largest LNG Refinery

Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil have launched a project to build the worlds largest, $14 billion, liquefied natural gas (LNG) Refinery. Under a 25 yr agreement, starting in 2008 the U.S. will import 25-30% of its LNG needs from Qatar. In the first phase of the project, to be completed in the second half of 2008, the RasGas-3 plant will produce 15.6 million tons a year of LNG from two trains.
