These include alternative energy, renewable energy, biochemicals, bioenergy, wind power, solar power, photovoltaics, ocean power, ethanol, biodiesel, clean coal power, all electric cars, batteries, hybrid cars, hydrogen, oil natural gas and fuel cells. Peak oil and environmental concerns will be discussed as they relate to these technologies.

Two more reports of sky high oil prices have surfaced. In a Guardian story Matt Simmons warned that oil prices would reach $100/bbl within six months. A Bloomberg article indicated that options trading contracts show that $80/bbl oil is possible by year end.
