About Biomass Liquefaction via Pyrolysis

Saturday, 07. May 2005

Pyrolysis of biomass is accomplished by heating biomass to a temperature between 450 C and 600 C in the absence of any oxygen.  The resulting pyrolysis oil, commonly called bio-oil can be used in gas turbines and diesel engines with relatively low cost modifications.  Several installations using this process are in commercial use.
